Theatre Direct Announces the 09-10 Season

Let's Make a PLAY Date

Welcome to our 2009-2010 season, our 33rd year of presenting exceptional theatre for young people!

In this brochure we’ve highlighted our productions created especially for schools groups and family audiences and presented in our new centre for lively arts and learning – The Loop.

Our beautiful new facilities in the Artscape Wychwood Barns have been designed with young people in mind and to accommodate our unique balance of sophisticated and inspiring professional theatre experiences together with engaging, hands-on education programs that nurture a child’s appreciation and understanding of theatre and performing arts.

While each production for this season is unique, both Beneath the Banyan Tree and FIVE celebrate the power of dance and music to reveal compelling stories of friendship and discovery for young people powered by the most renewable resource available- the imagination!

As a parent of two children in elementary school, I know pressures of managing home, school and all the many extra-curricular obligations-scheduling our lives can be crazy! But taking time to be together, immersed in another world created by the magic of theatre is a wonderful, memorable and meaningful gift for everyone. So, as your planning your year ahead, be sure to make a playdate with exceptional theatre for your family or your class!
