Beneath the Banyan Tree was originally commissioned by Sampradaya Dance Theatre and premiered in Association with Theatre Direct in 2004. It received further development and a Toronto premier by Theatre Direct as part of the Milk International Children’s Festival in 2005.
Since then, this delightful story of a young girl’s experience of adjusting to a new life in Canada, told through Classical Indian dance, movement, music, puppetry and storytelling, has toured extensively across the country and throughout England presented by Theatre Hullabaloo.
